HISTORY - HARVESTECH DELIMBER
The demand for Harvestech Delimbers has continued to grow as their reliability and value is recognised by more and more contractors. The earlier Harvestech Series 2000 Delimber took production to the milestone of 100 Delimbers, but with the introduction of the S3000 model that number has now risen to over 250 Harvestech Delimbers in operation.
In the New Zealand domestic logging market the Harvestech Delimber has become the benchmark for equipment in its class. Quality, reliability and safety are the principle design criteria for all Harvestech products. "This is not just a catch phrase", says Harvestech's Nelson based design partner Bill Lumsden, "forestry is one of the toughest environments for equipment and any manufacturer that fails to build reliability into their equipment won't be in this business for long".
The slow down in the New Zealand industry between 2003 and 2005 proved the resilience of the Harvestech Delimber, with sales bucking the industry trend as contractors took advantage of the savings benefits that this incredibly reliable design provides. The 200th Delimber milestone was reached at the beginning of 2005.
Throughout the life of the Delimber, Harvestech have continually invested in product improvement to increase its strength and reliability.
